“Cybersecurity is not solely the responsibility of the IT department. It is a shared effort, and everyone needs the right education, training and support.”

– Björn Orri Guðmundsson, CEO, Aftra

Aftra and AwareGO have partnered to integrate AwareGO’s security awareness content into the Aftra platform. The collaboration connects insight into employees’ digital exposure with practical training, helping people understand how their information could be used by attackers and what they can do to protect themselves and their workplace.

Making security personal

Security training becomes more relevant when people can connect it to their own lives.

Aftra maps the digital footprint of organizations and their employees, identifying exposure such as information found in data breaches and on the dark web. This helps employees understand what information about them is available and why it could be valuable to an attacker.

AwareGO’s training content builds on that understanding, explaining how attackers can use exposed information and guiding employees towards safer everyday habits.

“At AwareGO, our goal has always been to make cybersecurity education engaging and practical. Training works best when people see that it is relevant to them personally. When an employee sees what information about them has appeared on the dark web and receives training on how attackers use it, they understand the purpose. That is exactly what our partnership with Aftra makes possible.”

– Ragnar Sigurðsson, Co-founder and CEO, AwareGO

Stronger together

This partnership brings together two complementary perspectives: understanding digital exposure and helping people respond to it.

Aftra gives organizations visibility into their digital footprint and potential vulnerabilities. AwareGO provides practical security awareness content that helps employees recognize risks and make more informed decisions.

Together, the new Security Training feature helps organizations:

  • Make security training relevant by connecting it to employees’ own digital footprint.
  • Explain how exposed information can be used in phishing and other forms of deception.
  • Give employees practical guidance to protect themselves and their workplace.

“With AwareGO’s training content, we help our customers respond to the risks Aftra identifies.”

Putting people at the centre of Cybersecurity Awareness Month

The partnership launches alongside Aftra’s annual October cybersecurity campaign. This year’s theme focuses on the human element of security, with participants receiving special access to the new training content through Aftra.

The aim is to help organizations turn awareness into action by giving employees the knowledge and support they need to take an active role in security.

“The response has exceeded our expectations, and we are seeing strong interest from organizations in offering high-quality training that delivers results for their employees.”

– Stefanía Berndsen, Chief Commercial Officer, Aftra

Looking ahead

By connecting digital exposure with practical education, Aftra and AwareGO are making security training more relevant to the people it is designed to help.

The partnership supports a shared ambition: helping employees understand the risks they face and giving organizations a practical way to build stronger security habits across their teams.

More interesting training material to come, stay tuned.
