We are pleased to announce that Aftra has hit a major milestone by recently securing 200 million ISK in financing. This funding will fuel our ambitious plans for growth and expansion into international markets, with Europe as the primary focus.
Aftra offers software designed to map a company’s digital footprint by uncovering security vulnerabilities that hackers could exploit. Our solution takes a unique approach by employing hacker methodologies to help executives better understand, address, and take accountability for their organization’s cyber security. We do this by providing security insights and opportunities for improvement through an intuitive dashboard designed for the C-suite with continuous and dynamic vulnerability monitoring and scanning running in the background.
Previously part of Syndis, a prominent Icelandic cybersecurity firm, Aftra was established as an independent subsidiary in May this year. Along with Syndis, Aftra will continue to operate under the umbrella of Skyggnir, a major player in the Icelandic technology industry, working closely with both organizations.
Our CEO, Björn Orri Guðmundsson, describes the recent funding as a pivotal moment for the company.
What sets Aftra apart is our emphasis on empowering the executive level to understand cybersecurity by making it one of the top KPIs for their business. Our preventative approach and the combined ability to identify both external and internal digital threats means that we can deliver, in one simple solution, the capabilities of multiple tools on the market today.
Born from Syndis’s expertise in cybersecurity and risk management and launched as an independent company only months ago, we already have multiple successes under our belt and big ambitions for expansion. Our unique focus on merging hacker insights with executive-level accountability – which is now a requirement for new directives such as NIS2– positions our company as a key player in the Icelandic, and soon European, cybersecurity ecosystem.
With this financial backing, we’re ready to tackle the challenges of further expanding beyond Iceland’s borders, and bring our innovative solution to a broader audience.
While we won’t share the exact details of our expansion strategy, one thing is clear: we’re gearing up to make a significant impact. We’ve already started to enter the Finnish market through our recent reseller agreement with the Finnish IT partner, Abero and have high hopes for further relationships in the wider Nordic and European market.
